About Us
Jerre and Phyllis Frankhouser
have been operating Hammer Creek Farm for over 35 years. Jerre has been
working in all aspects of the horse industry since he was a child. Thus, his
background is steeped in riding tradition. His father showed jumpers and his
grandfather foxhunted. As a junior, Jerre rode jumpers including his famous
“Town Talk”. He rode in the first United States Grand Prix held in
Cleveland, Ohio. In the late 1960’s he started his own teaching and training
business. Today, he is an accomplished rider, trainer and judge.
As a trainer, Jerre has coached riders from lead line, through pony and
junior hunters on to jumpers. Over the many years, his riders have ridden to
championships at numerous shows up and down the east coast and have
qualified for Devon, Pennsylvania National Horse Show, Washington
International Horse Show, Marshall and Sterling National Finals and NAL
finals. Additionally, his students have won year end awards in the CPJHSA,
EPPHA, PHSA, MHSA, VHSA, USEq Zone 2 and USEq National awards. Jerre is also
a fixture in the show ring. Recently he has been successful in showing his
Dutch Warmblood, Raimond.
Phyllis has been involved with horses for over 35 years. She instructs
beginner and novice riders, both children and adults. She was an avid
foxhunter and has competed in pleasure driving.
